Stanford Super Bowl Tie-Ins - Bruce Wang - 02-01-2026

The Patriots will use the Stanford facilities to practice.  The speculation is that both teams want to avoid that electrical substation that abuts the 49ers facility.

In terms of Stanford alums in the game, Austin Hooper is the Pats TE2 and has played well this season behind Hunter Henry who considered Stanford seriously but opted to play for Home State U.

The Seahawks feature no Stanford alums on their roster but their QB is Buddy Pine aka Syndrome who was interested in Stanford but in the infinite wisdom of our coaching staff, they recruited him to play LB.

Keller Chryst works for the Seahawks in a "Special Projects" role.

Would anyone care to opine as to whether the electrical substation is responsible for the 49ers' league-leading rash of injuries?

Definitely not. The reason is that the didn't hire Turley :-) Not Shannon Turley, but Helen Turley. A couple of bottles of The White Coat would have fixed all the injuries.

Honestly it's superstition to me, but someone can convince me of a electrophysiological mechanism with data.
