WBB: Stanford v. Georgia Tech - crackpot - 02-08-2026

C'mon, let's go, Card!

Not a good sign when a player breaks their own record in the first five minutes of the game. Will someone please guard her?

RE: WBB: Stanford v. Georgia Tech - TonyLima - 02-08-2026

Somfai mugged, no call. Here we go again.

Georgia Tech shoots 26% from 3. So, the sagging defense is an intentional choice to stop GT inside.

Somfai and Alex can compare bruises on the ride home. Crazy.

Whoa--Tiffany Bird is reffing? Can that be right?

Actually watching our defense allowing three after three

Not sure they’d be willing to expose that much skin in public.

So far we are not winning the 3-pt battle: 1/10 (10%) to 7/19 (37%)

I miss the Pac-12 network coverage of WBB. These announcers are genuinely awful.

Not playing well. GT is making wide open three after wide open three. That calls for some coaching adjustments regardless of what their season stats show.

Swain is playing well. She's about the only one. Ogden not showing out at all so far in her homecoming game. Sigh.

Yes.

Leaving people wide open, then our offense is the same.  Perimeter passing to no where.

RE: WBB: Stanford v. Georgia Tech - TonyLima - 02-08-2026

Some offense. Pass around the perimeter until there are nine seconds left on the shot clock. Then heave up a desperation shot that usually misses. Open players seem afraid to shoot.

By my count, 2 airballs so far.

On the list of reasons why we’re getting crushed at the moment, bad reffing ranks way down…

Agree 100%

RE: WBB: Stanford v. Georgia Tech - here4WBB - 02-08-2026

Somfai escorted off the court with a lower leg injury with seconds left to go in the second quarter

AND they call a foul on her

RE: WBB: Stanford v. Georgia Tech - crackpot - 02-08-2026

Can we just call it and get an early flight home?

I've watched maybe one or two games this season because I don't have the ACC Network but if you're blaming refs for all of these losses, then it's a bigger problem than just bad refereeing.

Our program has taken a nosedive over the last few seasons; losing to a 10-14 Georgia Tech team would have been unimaginable not too long ago. However, that's been par for the course recently.

I feel like our team is much like under Haase's - less than the sum of its parts. We might not have the talent to challenge UConn and South Carolina, but we are better than this

RE: WBB: Stanford v. Georgia Tech - TonyLima - 02-08-2026

Even the announcers doubt that last basket from Georgia Tech, much less the foul

That last call, however, did move them up the list a bit…

RE: WBB: Stanford v. Georgia Tech - Card10Fan - 02-08-2026

This is essentially a must win game for NCAA tourney reasons and we look like unengaged and out of sorts against a very bad GA Tech team. And now Somfai down injured. Oh well I guess there's always next year unless our key players all transfer out after the season. We should NOT be this bad even with Nunu and Talana out.

I'm ready to turn by attention to Stanford softball which to me seems more promising.
