This tracks to what I suspected.  The only explanation for LSU face planting as they did was that the players did not take preparation seriously or were partying too much in N.O.  A total team implosion is not all that shocking to hear.

Sports blogs and bulletin boards are to conspiracy theories what  Asian poultry operations are to flu strains.  And public opinion polls show that "The head coach is a freaking idiot" is THE single most listed answer to all sports questions...even those that ask " Who pitched for the NY Yankees in the '27 Series?"  The really interesting thing is how often it turns out that the head coach really is a freaking idiot.

I retain some skepticism about pieces like this that die hard fans tend to use as extenuating circumstances explaining why their obviously superior teams inexplicably lost to inferior teams.
