Nate Lohn update -
socalstanfan1 - 01-20-2012
One of the intriguing prospects we have not been talking about on here, as we all (well, all of us who are recruiting obessed) watch Kyle Murphy, Josh Garnett, Aziz Shittu, and Andrus Peat, is Nate Lohn, a 3-star DL from Missouri. Apparently we have some late competition for Lohn (who seems to be waiting to hear back from admissions): Texas A&M. What complicates this further is that Lohn is a legacy there, as both his father and uncle played football for the aggies, according to some tweets.

I spend far too much emotional energy and work productivity keeping up with the whims of 18 year old prospects and the Stanford admissions office. Oh for the good ol' days when you had the odd report of a hot prospect that may be interested in your program and the SF Chronicle story on the class when all is said is done.

If we land Shittu and Kaumatule is admitted I'm not sure we have room for Lohn since we already have Nwafor and Watkins. But I've seen his highlights on YouTube and he looks very explosive. I'd love to have him in this class.

Truer words were never spoken, IMO. The overabundance of information has made some of us (I certainly am talking about myself here) into fantasy coaches, GMs, recruiters, scouts, etc. I think it is part of that same trend that makes fantasy sports so popular (though I have never gone there).Â
Yet, despite lucid moments when I check myself, I keep coing back...

More positive news on Lohn -
socalstanfan1 - 01-20-2012
Ok...still in the grips of my obsession with recruiting. But now the news is more positive:
Report on twitter that Lohn got the news that he has been accepted by Stanford.

Funny, I just posted almost the same thing on the Kyle Murphy thread, almost word for word. Perhaps we all need a break -- February 1st cannot get here soon enough...

Recruiting site 247sports lists a link titled
"Stanford lands 4-star DT" that has restricted access.
The website link, however, is
http://247sports.com/Article/Nate-Lohn-has-committed-to-Stanford-57913
which I think we can call a clue!
