Re: Andrus Peat - larkinforever - 01-21-2012

Awesome news. If Andrus and the last few elite recruits tip over to the good guys (i.e. Stanford), this will be a historic recruiting class. Feb. 1 can't come soon enough.

Been hearing for a couple weeks that Andrus was down to Stanford and Nebraska. Was uncertainty over admissions the "real" reason he wasn't committing or is he really still undecided?

Question is... - Redrum - 01-21-2012

Would BOTH Murphy and Peat commit to Stanford?    Earlier in the day Zach Banner's commit to USC was announced.  Theoretically that would increase our chances with either Peat or Murphy.  But now maybe the same mindset works against a dual commitment to us.  Or...we could end up with neither Murphy (USC)  nor Peat (Nebraska)

It was easier when we'd get a 3-star interested in Stanford and nobody else really cared.

Gee, I wonder whether that had anything to do whatsoever with his canceling his trip to FSU this weekend.

Re: Andrus Peat - tho0505 - 01-22-2012

Peat would be an extremely big pickup for the Cardinal. Only issue that Stanford is fighting against is his brother is at Nebraska. LUCKily for Stanford, Nebraska has Bo "freak out" Pelini.

For playing time purposes I'm actually surprised that more top linemen aren't jumping at the offers coming through. Look at how Martin and Decastro developed.  Garnett will most likely redshirt at Michigan and who knows when Peat will see the field at Nebraska.

Re: Andrus Peat - larkinforever - 01-22-2012

This year may quite possibly be the best year for selling the team to top OL recruits. In addition to DeCastro and Martin developing (pro style + coaching) + moving on to the NFL (playing time), there is also Beeler the season before, who together with DeCastro and Martin makes three (non-consensus) All Americans on the OL including one C, one OT and one OG, and serendipitously there is also commit Kodi Whitfield, whose existence makes reminding recruits about Bob Whitfield very convenient.
