Great article. When we're winning in football, we have a virtually unbeatable recruiting pitch. We needed to take advantage of our success the last two years -- and we did. Nice to see a little bit of coverage of the recruiting success.

I've been wondering if the tough economic times have enhanced our recruiting success by bringing home the point that it's a 40 year decision and the value of a Stanford degree can't be overstated.

If I remember right, it was Harbaugh who started offering scholarships in massive quantities, with the idea being that he needed to cast a wider net and hope that some of the fish turned out to be good. Now the fish are jumping into the boat, which is always a good thing.
