Fleener moving up the charts - FarmBoy - 03-02-2012

For those without ESPN insider, this is the first time Kiper has rated Fleener the number 1 TE prospect in the draft. Throughout the season, he rated him 3rd, IIRC.

He also rates Luck #1 QB, Martin #3 OT (behind Kalil and Reif) and Decastro #1 Guard.

Losing four guys who are first round talent, all on offense, is a big disruption. Replacing QBs and OLs is always difficult, but when they're such superior talent, you just don't know what your'e going to get (though I'm less worried about TE than the other three spots.)

Re: Fleener moving up the charts - washingtonismoney - 03-02-2012

The offensive side of the ball is really hard to figure for next year. We love a ton of talent, but we also return a lot of talent. Fleming and Yankey are, at least on the scale of public acclaim, on the same track as DeCastro and Martin were (honorable mention All-Pac-10/12, freshmen all-americans). Stepfan Taylor's the best returning running back in the conference. Ertz and Toilolo are proven.

The losses are obvious--and it's just hard to see how the parts will move.

I didn't think Kiper had Fleener in his top 5 at all...McShay might have, but I can't quite remember.  But to heck with them--Fleener's a great fit for any team needing their version of Gonzalez, Davis, or Gronkowski.
