multi-tight end sets catching on? -

I saw that the U of South Bend moved Troy Niklas from defense to tight end, even though they have good talent there. A lot of noise about this 6-7 250 lb. athlete being blocker first blah blah blah. Imitation is best form of flattery

Surprised that this hasn't gotten a lot of play, but Brian Kelly was actually talking about this about a year ago--recruiting "Big Skill" guys in imitation of Stanford. He went on pretty extensively about it, too. Anyway, surprised given the paranoid obsessiveness of the Domer fanbase that that didn't get more attention.

Soon it will have been their idea all along...unless, of course, it doesn't work.

Then it'll definitely have been Brian Kelly's idea all along. Because his idiocy is sui generis and in no way does his failures reflect upon the inability of the vast majority of head coaches to get those echoes ringing once again.
