I've always thought Paul Brown was a jerk for the way he treated Walsh, but I've never been aware of this story before. What a doofus.

People observe-- rightly-- that success and being a nice person are not linked. Indeed, sometimes being an a-hole and success seem positively linked.  Living well is best revenge. Having thousands of readers simultaneously think "Paul Brown...What a
dick!" is also decent revenge. That more and more people on the planet think "Paul who?" is just equally just.

From what my spouse said after he read Steve Jobs' biography, that seems to be the case for the Apple guru.
