Hey OASIS! ('civil' war thread beckons across the pond) -

Didn't appreciate [CB regular] BeteRouge's most recent sniping on cybears; he came across as a meanie imo.
But if there's any excuse to venture civil discourse there (probably not), heck, a thread entitled "Tedf*rd is McClellan" can't be the worst opportunity.Â

In this analogy, T.edford's recruiting = McClellan's drilling/training--the gift he leaves a better successor. (But would the 59ers hire a Ulysses S. Grant? And there's no way a coach as competent as Winfield Scott was a general is currently on T.edford's staff, right?

Seems clear that 5-7 years ago things were GREAT at UCB. The wins were plentiful and the recruit classes were getting better and better. Oh, and there was that Big Game win streak thing.
However, since that time, ~2007, the recruiting classes have found a plateau at the #20-#30 level. The losses have climbed, and most of the teams with comparable talent in the conference have learned how to beat Tedford.
Has UCB really performed that far below their potential based on the recruiting rankings? Probably not. UCB has pretty much been a team ranked in the 25-40 range, just a touch below their rankings. Teams that finish in the top 40 routinely sport future NFL draft picks. So no inconsistencies there. IMHO.
However, it has become clear that Tedford is struggling to put together that year of magic with solid wins over Oregon, SC and Stanford. Ohhhhh. :( And generally while a loss is a loss, the UCB squad seems to find ways to look terrible in those higher profile games.
But what to do? The Tedford contract is a killer, and the AD is going to have most of its financial resources and best donors dedicated to fighting to hide the problems that are emerging from the 1/2 billion dollar tribute to excessive government spending.
Whoa General Washington. -

Followup isn't my strong suit, sorry GW. Esp when a reply comes before I'm done patching my worst typos, ahead of quick as silk posters like yourself.
[spoiler warning]
What's works better for Lurck is trying to hook up reasonable people to write good stuff about mutual interests of mine. And more to the point, esp try'n tempt back Oasis, host of Cardboard's official dinner after a New Years Day Pasadena appearance, vs Minn.
[spoilers all done]
Anyways, if you wanna explore historicals at the link offered, or right here, cool.
Me, I'm busy prepping for the 2nd time this century to watch, away from home, Whedon's Avengers debut Friday. First this century was Joss' "Cabin In The Woods" Friday April 13th. FullMetal knows the whyfors.

I think Oasis fell at the siege of Richmond - Redrum - 05-01-2012
Dire times for the Confederacy and maybe dire times for Oasis' peace of mind: he seemed increasingly irritated at several trends among posts here. Ancient history, but as my life in the South has revealed over and over, the past lives and old grievances don't necessarily die.
As for Lurck's complaint, not sure which of, like, 9 posts per year on Bear Insiders got under his skin. Not that the number matters.Â
Any post by
any Stanford fan is considered by most Cyberbe.ars. as a brazen act of troll-ery. Despite the appeal of a supposedly open board exchange of ideas, they does love their hermetically sealed echo chamber. Of course, Lurck is not your average Cyberbe.ar. If he's growling, it's worth paying attention. The only vaguely "meany" comment I can recall was to note that we'd heard their bold proclamations about impending Kal women's hoops domination before. But maybe I was meaner somewhere else.

Can't recall what anonymous wit Bete' did to rattle my cage, whenever. Memory issues muddy the waters, yeah,
yeah.. that's the ticket.
FLOTUS Nancy Reagan on her Just Say No Tour -- instigated by WH chief of staff Don Regan solely to get her the heck out of staffer's hair -- famously snapped at reporters who wouldn't stop it with the gotcha questions: "I'm just here for drugs!"Â
Well,
me too except not drugs, but to tempt Oasis back. Could he be passing with an alias? Nope, not gonna work, understood.
Now for something completely different..
Below is a fascinating link I've been hoping to unload back home; no cigar, too much smoke to find the best target. Offered for amusement, but as a pop quiz also.Â
Add up how many of the 24 eternals you've deliberately employed during online debate. Nooo, don't TELL anyone your tally, of course not, just for shoots and giggles.Â
