It was frustrating from the stands to try to figure out the strike zone, which seemed to shift around a lot.  Once the bats warmed up, it was a fine and enjoyable game!!  Great to start the weekend with a win.  Especially good to see Kenny Diekroeger get a couple of hits and a nice sacrifice bunt.  Everyone in the lineup, except Tyler Gaffney, got at least one hit.

The announcer said that one regional had a twenty one inning first game.  SOOOO glad that wasn't us.  Eighteen innings last Friday against Cal was enough!

A great game.  Gaffney getting to 3nd before a tag could be made was brobdingnagian and led to 2 runs.

What do we know about Pepperdine?  I imagine they are pretty good -- the WCC is very solid in baseball.  Chronicle ran an article on Elway's nephew; he seems like a player.  How is their #2 starter?
