The Mercury News is reporting that an ESPN draft analyst tweeted that Pitcher Mark Appel will be selected by the Houston Astros as the the No 1 pick in the MLB draft.

We've had three number one picks this year--all of them, remarkably, from Houston, Texas.

Well, obviously that was a bogus story.  4 guys are off the board, and none is named Marl Appel.  Keith Law seems to be  suggesting that Appel is asking for big money.  Perhaps a case like Buster Posey (he also went #5 in spite of being in most eyes the top prospect)?

Oof :(  Well...it's the Astros.  There are more than a few Stanford alumni Astros fans around here who will be disappointed.
