If we are going to cheer for UCLA's status let's stick to the facts.

#1)  More high school seniors apply to UCLA than any other UC school
#2)  UCLA admits a smaller percentage of Pro Fro applicants than any other UC school
#3)  UCLA has become the most selective public school in the country.

Some other UC school used to claim those honors.

Perhaps the nearby town is viewed as a negative to prospective applicants?
