As usual, this just proves the youth have it much better than we did. Back in the day,* we had to contend with mountain lions.** Bet you think you're tough now, huh?***

I remember once seeing a family of raccoons walking through the middle of the Quad in the early 90s. No mountain lions.

I was actually relieved when I read that.  This morning I heard a radio teaser  "and a manhunt has ended at Stanford...more after this message." and thought this was going to be bad news related to that.  I never did hear what happened.

apparently the Stanford PD arrested a man for domestic violence.  After being handcuffed and placed in the squad car he somehow escaped before getting to the police department, he was recaptured a couple hours later
