As you know, nearly every team in the country has players dismissed for disciplinary reasons almost every single year.

We don't have players dismissed for disciplinary issues, we rarely lose players once enrolled to academic issues...we seem to have fewer knuckleheads. Most of the time we talk about this as a moral advantage, but I think it's also an important competitive advantage. The last time we lost playing time in one of the revenue sports to one of these sorts of issues was Brook Lopez's lost first half of the basketball year--and when you consider the number of seasons and players, the ratio is surely dramatically smaller than competitors. That must make life so much easier for our coaches.

LSU Head Coach Les Miles noted that Honey Badger was off the team this season. He didn't say what would happen beyond that time period. Why do I feel a beautiful pre-championship game TV profile is waiting for us? A profile of fall and redemption by a player seriously growing and maturing through his tribulations and the coach who believes America is all about second chances.
