Is fighting for third string QB with the Eagles. Kafka was expected to be number 2, but is out with a broken hand and has never started an NFL game. Foles has quickly risen to the #2 spot with great preseason performances. It was clear that Edwards was not going to make the team based on the fact that he gets very few practice snaps. However, in the 1st preseason game, Edwards stepped in and was very efficient in the 4th quarter and led two scoring drives to win the game. Then, last night, Vick goes down in the 1st quarter, so the team is down to Foles and Edwards. It will be interesting to see if Edwards is kept on as an insurance policy.

FWIW, I stayed up to watch the 2nd half to see if Edwards would play and I saw a couple of his drives. The little I saw was not pretty, but I missed a couple of drives where he picked up some yards.

Trent continues to make a push for the 3rd QB spot with the Eagles. I would guess that his performance has at least made him an attractive option for any team looking to add a dependable back up should the Eagles release him, perhaps for a team like, oh, I don't know, the Colts?
