Pac-12 Networks Replaying the Greatest. Upset. Ever. -

It's got a documentary-style introduction. Really cool. Harbaugh is in candid mode.

I was just thinking this morning how much I'd love to see this game again. I can't wait until they strike that deal with DirecTV.

TOUCHDOWN USC
I thought they might edit the audio in the replay...TOUCHDOWN "
Stanford".

OK, the opportunity to edit the audio was obviously something I was not really expecting.
But the use of "Cardinals" at least two times in the wrap up text was very annoying. This could not be corrected by the Pac-12 Networks??
That was awesome!!!! -

Oh wow, that was amazing. I've never watched a replay of the "Biggest Upset Ever" game. What an incredible game! So many guys contributed to that win. The commentary by Flemming, Pritchard, Sherman, Harbaugh, et al. really added to it as well. I was on the edge of my seat, even though I knew what would happen. An all-time historic moment for Stanford football!

That was actually the first time I'd seen most of the game. I'd decided to go to Paris as a way to escape football, as I presumed we'd be utterly miserable for a year as Harbaugh turned the boat around (in what I thought was a best-case scenario). Imagine how wrong that was.
My best memory from that season was listening to Big Game on the radio at 2 a.m. and making a pricey international call to my friends, who were at the game. It was the weirdest fun feeling, and I never thought it'd only get better.

I lost my satellite receiver just prior to the 4th down play. My reaction? Hiroshima looked like a kitchen match by comparison. The dogs were moonwalking out of the room...eyes wide and looking for my wife.
I finally got the score from the Internet and didn't know the details until the next day. After watching the end so many times I feel like I actually saw it live. I didn't.

I DVR'd but when I started watching I was only about an hour behind. I definitely noticed some increased phone activity but I decided to ignore it until I saw with my own eyes the ending (a near upset would have induced some phone activity as well, I thought).
The game ran way long, so the DVR cut off and I didn't get to see USC's final futile drive and so I had to rely on others to confirm. A great, great day to be a Stanford fan.

I remember that day and the quietest wild cheer ever while trying not to wake up the Cardinal-clad newborn in my arms.Â

I remember that I couldn't find anybody to go to the game with me. One friend told me, "We're going to lose. What's the point?" So I went by myself, bought a ticket from a scalper, and sat by myself amidst a sea of USC fans. On that fade-out pass into the end zone, I couldn't actually see if Mark Bradford had held onto the ball. I just knew that it was quiet for an extended period of time.
Jeesh that was an amazing, amazing moment.

I saw it all as it happened on my roommate's ~14" tv. My fellow housemates were all Texas fans and doing their own thing that day, but that night when the final whistle had been blown and the fall of Troy was complete, I was carried around on the shoulders of two of my housemates as we celebrated another historic U$C loss.
Yup, memories run deep in Texas football fandom. You can always count Texas fans to cheer a U$C loss.

I help to run a non-profit org here in LA. During the summer of 2007, the program director (also a personal friend) invited me to her wedding on the evening of October 6. I crossed my fingers that the Stanford-USC game would be a 12:30 kickoff so that I could attend both the game and the wedding. No such luck. I had to choose between the two. I still do not regret deciding on the wedding. But it was up in Topanga Canyon with no access to Versus. I knew nothing about the result until I headed home. You can imagine my shock as I listened to the flagship USC radio station try to explain what had happened.
Now before the USC game each season, I watch the replay of the last few minutes of the game and then I watch the West Flo reaction -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yr9viH8_XpAÂ It never fails to draw goosebumps.
GG - were you at the reception at Adam and Kristen Keefe's house the night before that game? One of the assistant ADs (was it Mike Izzi?) walked around with a fat envelope of tickets, trying to give them away. Please take the tickets. Guest of the AD. We just want Stanford people in the Stanford section. There were few takers.Â

I'm pretty sure I must have been. I try to never miss an opportunity to party at the Keefe's (the mosh pit is insane). Somehow I missed the guy begging people to take tickets. That's okay, in a way, it was kind of fun being the lone Cardinal amongst the sea of Trojans. I know that apparently many of the USC fans applauded the Cardinal afterwards. The closest thing to gracious that I got was some guy who said, "Even a blind pig gets an acorn once in a while." I was too elated to take offense, so I just shouted, "WE'LL TAKE IT!!!"

Me and a fellow '06 alum who was a med school classmate were in the middle of the SC student section, unbothered for most of the game since our colors blended in pretty well and our cheering was mainly ignored. The Bradford catch was in the corner of the end zone directly in front of the student section, and after he came down with that ball and we erupted, everyone in the student section was looking at us like we were from another planet. Stunned silence. It was awesome. On par with the Nick Robinson heave for my greatest sports memory.
I'm looking forward to watching the replay, hopefully TWC New York will offer Pac12 network (unlikely).

I watched that game at Double D's sports bar & grill in Los Gatos. When the game started, there were several other games on -- NotreDame, the Chicago Cubs, several other football games. Only a dozen or two people were watching Stanford-U.S.C. As the second half played out, with Stanford still hanging tough, more people started watching the game. People started to arrive for dinner in the 4th quarter. By this time, everyone was watching the Stanford game, including a lot of people who were standing around waiting to be seated. Nobody was leaving. The place was packed. It was almost entirely a Stanford crowd, except for a table of U.S.C. guys. When Osaisai picked the ball off with 3 minutes remaining, people began to think it was possible that Stanford really might win this thing. When Sherman converted the 4th and 20, the place roared. When Bradford scored the TD on 4th down, the place went berserk. It was just amazing. But the true Stanford fans in the place knew in their hearts that there was still enough time for Stanford to blow it. The real celebration broke out with McNally's interception. It was just incredible . . . what a memory!
