Quote:Were looking to get revenge. Theres a lot of motivation and a lot of emotion in this game, Robey said. I feel like we deserve this win more than they do, so were going to go out and get it.

If by "deserve" he means "are more entitled to," then that would be accurate. But entitlements win you nothing on the field. C'mon Stanford!
Hey, that's OK -

I like it a lot better when U$C is out trying to get revenge against us, rather than us trying to get revenge against them.

Pretty excited about this game. I'm expecting what everyone is expecting but it would be nice if we can really get the running game going and make this a close one.

I've never been clear...to you avenge a loss or get revenge?
Anyway, I guess you avenge something, but it's not like they will wipe away 4 out of the last 5. Those happened whether SC wins Saturday or not.

I'm excited too. The game is early in the season but it is our opportunity to step up and make a statement about what kind of team we are going to be post-AL. The entire country will be watching.
We were what - 14 point underdogs going into the Coliseum before we beat them down 3 years ago. We can do it again.
Defense - prove that our front 7 is the best in the country and the DBs - prove that you're a much better group - ready to take on and beat the best receiving team in the country. Fire up the offense.
Let's get fired up!

If our DBs can somehow slow Lee/Woods, we're golden. It's gonna be up to them. Remember Blackmon last year--here's their chance to step up.

I'm sure Robey is referring to the fact his team lost when he felt it deserved to win, last year. Unfortunately, last year has nothing to do with this year. It's a whole new combination of players and coaches, and the game is being played much earlier in the season.Â
I'd way rather hear U.S.C. players talking about last year's game and inferring they were the better team in that game, in preparation for this week, rather than hearing them say something like "we need to have a great week of practice and everybody on this team has to do his best to prepare for this game if we want to beat Stanford on Saturday."
The more U.S.C. players think about how they were better in last year's game, the better it is for Stanford tomorrow, IMO.

Hmm. Now I don't feel so good.
First play should be wildcat, and Nunes should take out one of their linebackers. Just to get it out of his system.

Skov and company need to abuse that replacement center of theirs. Also, we need a good moniker for our wealth of talent at LB.

Funny what the prospect of 0 for 4 will do to you.Â
The U.SC Tag line for tomorrow's game is "We Play for Redemption". This is the latest in the T.rojan's "We Play" series and shows a large measure of respect for the Stanford program.  The 80s era U.SC teams would have laughed at connecting a game with Stanford to the need for Redemption. Well, at least USC's redemption!
I'm pretty sure my class graduated without having beat the T.rojans so I'm salivating at the opportunity to do the same thing to one graduating class at the U.SC. (See, I CAN believe in Santa and beating the University of South Central without Andrew Luck for one 24 hour period!)
