With three games in the books, anybody who plays Thursday and beyond this season will officially use a year of eligibility. Of course, everyone is most interested in the True Frosh. So who of the True Frosh will play Thursday or otherwise not redshirt in 2012?

I don't expect we will see anyone new. Peet, Murphy, Garnett, Whitfield, Hoffpauer, Madhu, Carter, Martinez, Luke K. I have debated whether there is a chance we see Azziz.
Am I forgetting anyone?

Did Garnett and K. Murphy play against USC? If they didn't, they are probably redshirt candidates.
I agree on Peat, Whitfield, Kaumutele, Hoffauir, Martinez, and Madhu continuing to play.Â
In case of emergency, break glass:Â K. Murphy, Garnett, Nwafor and Shittu.

Both Murphy and Garnett played against USC, and at any rate had played in the first two games.
The only guy missing from the list is the long snapper, Reed Miller.

Kyle Murphy was 94 last weekend. He has played a lot this season.

90% positive the rule is 33% of tje games rounded down. Therefore playing 4 games is Ok. Terry2?

Think we oughta burn his redshirt while he can still walk and still has teeth in his head.

All of the freshmen who have appeared in one or more of our games this year all have used a season of eligibility, unless they become eligible for a medical redshirt.
The medical redshirt rule has several requirements:
(1) The player must have suffered a season-ending injury, which must be proved by medical documentation.
(2) The player must have appeared in no more than 30% of his team's games. For football, 30% works out to 4 games (30% of 12 = 3.6; the rule says all fractions are rounded up, so 3.6 is rounded up to 4).
(3) The season-ending injury must have occurred in the first half of the season (for football, that means before the kickoff of the 7th game).
For example, a player would be eligible for a medical redshirt if he were to appear in games 1, 2, 4, and 6, then were to suffer a season-ending injury in practice before game 7.
So far as I'm aware, none of the true freshmen who have played have suffered a season-ending injury. So I'm not aware of any freshmen who might be eligible for a medical redshirt. (Blake Lueders should be able to get a medical redshirt, if his injury keeps him out of action all year long.)

Speaking of redshirts, I heard Barry J. Sanders was wearing a walking cast on campus earlier this week. Anyone know anything about this?
