Two subjects this time, Bob Condotta from the Seattle Times and John Berkowitz from the UW Dawg Pound. Here's the link:

Interesting that there's an article at UW Dawg Pound asking "Will a win on Thursday start filling some seats?" It makes me think that perhaps the CenturyLink Field home crowd might not be as loud or numerous as some are expecting. This would be a good thing...
Quote:Only 52,962 seats have been sold for Thursday nights game.
Three solid reasons for that:
A lot of the older fans aren't really interested in driving home late at night.
Fans aren't hip on the lack of tailgate opportunities in the SODO area.
Nobody wants to stay up late to watch another 69-21 clown stomping.

I've seen fans on Condetta's blog complaining that there are 15K seats available, but none for under $80. That does sound a bit steep for a college football regular season game. I would be pissed if I were a fan interested in going as well.

Neither blogger seems very optimistic despite the normal conditional phrasing of things. There was a moment pre/early Harbaugh where the swagger trickled down into the Seattle media as well as the whole program and fans. Heady days for them even though the dry rot had begun to set in during Willingham's tenure. Like they say, the arrogance is the last thing to go. Candotta was not immune.
I like this feature of yours, Hank. Takes initiative, but the people on the other side seem more than willing to talk. It'll be interesting to see whether anybody is home when it comes to seeking out WSU blogging support.

I went to a SDSU game last week, and I paid $10 for parking and another $10 for the game. I thought I was getting a steal. Even during the years of Buddy and WLAT, Stanford tickets were about $15.
