Poor game against an opponent that is not that strong, but playing this badly in the Pac 12 will kill you. After what seemed like a really well-crafted game plan for U.S.C. I just didn't see it for this game. Supposedly we're so deep at RB, did anybody besides Hewitt and Taylor get a carry? Nunes was terrible, and the wide receivers dropped a number of catchable balls, Montgomery foremost among them. Defensively we're still quite solid, I don't think it's an embarrassment to give up 17 to these guys, although we did hold U.S.C. to 14. Bottom line is we can't beat anybody in this league with the offense scoring 6 points.
Bad game plan, bad execution. Defense almost bailed us out with great play and a pick-6 but in the end if you can't move the chains you can't get much done. At the end of the game the offense had the ball across midfield with over 4 minutes to go and I think 2 time-outs, should have made a game of it. Stupid penalties and poor execution. We're being exposed as a team with no deep threat and no serviceable wide receivers. Can't believe that between Montgomery, Terrell, Patterson, and whoever else we don't have anybody that can get free and catch the ball.
