Quote:In no particular order, Stanford, BYU, Duke, Michigan State and Florida made the final five.
For those who don't know, Parker is supposedly the best basketball prospect since Lebron James. Watching his interviews, you also get the sense he's an extremely humble person despite everyone predicting superstardom for him.
Can anybody find tidbits or quotes that give insight on Parker's thoughts towards Stanford?

his dad was on the Warriors for 6 years so maybe that can help push him towards Stanford but I think he'll be hard to steal from Duke.

The Sports Illustrated profile of Parker from the spring was a great read, and there's one thing from the piece that I'll always remember. For some reason the JV team at Parker's school often plays after the varsity instead of the other way around. So after Parker's done dominating, he doesn't head for the stands with the rest of the varsity or scope out the dozens of cheerleaders who must be vying for his attention. Instead he sits on the bench with the JV and hands out water to the players during timeouts. So the best basketball prospect since LeBron is the waterboy for his JV squad. That kind of tells you all you need to know about him.

There's a certain vibe about him that makes me think we've got a chance (if a highly small one). A kid that puts BYU on the list isn't afraid to make an unconventional choice.

Sure. But still--it's a very bold school to list, irrespective of religious affiliation.

Oh I dunno about that...most devout LDS adherents will seriously consider BYU or at least list it sentimentally, I'd think. (Okay, I'm speculating. But I didn't care about applying to half the Ivy League, and yet I still made sure I filled out my UTexas app...)

I think Manti Te'o considered BYU but never seriously considered them, IIRC.
(Speaking of Te'o, I know he seriously considered Stanford. I was at a Stanford basketball game at which Te'o attended as well--Tavita Pritchard led the 6th Man Club in a "We Want Te'o" chant. Te'o appeared to enjoy it. Could you imagine the Stanford front seven...plus Manti Te'o? Keep in mind, also, that the staff was after Luke Kuechly as well. Some good ILB recruiting that year.)

Look at our win-loss record in the lede :)Â But hey, bleacherreport is worse than TMZ for fact-checking, so there's not much to expect...
