Watching Stanford vs. ND - Griffins78 - 10-13-2012

So everyone else thinks they will beat us. Even the weather is supposedly against us. Let's play!

They even had a documentary like special on ND as a lead in to the game. Gag Me.

Re: Watching Stanford vs. ND - Gauss - 10-13-2012

It is going to be tough, and the weather does not help given ND's stout front 7.
Let's hope for some lucky breaks.

Re: Watching Stanford vs. ND - Griffins78 - 10-13-2012

They blitzed the corner on the first play.

They got pressure on 3rd down with a 4 man rush.

OL pile pushed our DL. Battle in the trenches.

Darn - Browning should have intercepted but really offensive interference - but will take fumble instead

josh Garnett 51 in at fullback!

Re: Watching Stanford vs. ND - Gauss - 10-13-2012

So far, the game follows script, although perhaps our running game has had more success than expected.
Also Golson is a bit of a pain with his scrambling ability, but he also looks a bit rattled.
These are encouraging signs, let's go Cardinal!

Re: Watching Stanford vs. ND - JeffInCorvallis - 10-13-2012

Nunes not playing a bad game so far - pass to Whitfield in the endzone was pretty badly underthrown resulting in an INT.  BUT, ball is bouncing off of receivers' face masks and shoulder pads - WHY?  I'm pretty sure David Shaw (a WR) and other assistants know how to coach catching a pass.

Blame it on the rain?

Re: Watching Stanford vs. ND - CompSci87 - 10-13-2012

Rain in the receivers' eyes? JRP misjudged his drop by a lot.

Re: Watching Stanford vs. ND - TreeFitty - 10-13-2012

Well, that pick wasnt the rain. poop.

Re: Watching Stanford vs. ND - Leftcoast - 10-13-2012

Two picks in the first - Did we draw "bad Nunes" this week?

Re: Watching Stanford vs. ND - treefan - 10-13-2012

why are we throwing when it appears we can run on them?

Maybe that means we get "good Nunes" in the second half.

Or maybe we just got "road Nunes." for the game.

Re: Watching Stanford vs. ND - Cardinal96 - 10-13-2012

Watching Nunes lock down his receivers is painful to watch.  I hope he picks up his game.

To keep them honest.
This game is so frustrating! The defense has been amazing so far, but we just can't get anything going on offense...
UW all over again.

Re: Watching Stanford vs. ND - treefan - 10-13-2012

is it just me, or do our receivers have hands of brick?

Re: Watching Stanford vs. ND - TreeFitty - 10-13-2012

These delay of game calls are crappy to watch.

We have burned 2 timeouts.  But our defense is keeping us in this.

Re: Watching Stanford vs. ND - treefan - 10-13-2012

frustrating.

Re: Watching Stanford vs. ND - JohnR34231 - 10-13-2012

Yep, so far this is the UW game all over again.

I hope the offense can get their act together.

Re: Watching Stanford vs. ND - Leftcoast - 10-13-2012

Missed FG from NINE yards!?!

Now announcers say it was partially blocked. Not sure it would have been good even if not touched. :-<
