It\'s a lead and I\'ll take it, but we\'re kind of letting them hang around, which makes you a little uneasy.

If their offense catches fire in the second half and ours continues to sputter the way it did in the second quarter we could have some problems.

Hopefully we\'ll get a couple of quick scores early in the second half and put it away.

Luck is having a horrible game.  Let\'s call it like it is.  Last year, this team goes down in a heap in this scenario.  Two years ago the team is killed.  In the Buddies realms even the other team\'s fans leave early.

But thanks to the D, and in particular the DBs, everything is under control.

I think UCLA is not very good.  Hopefully this will prove to be Luck\'s worst game of the year since this formula probably does not get Stanford past the Oregon, USC, OSU types

Agree that UCLA is not a good team right now, but I think we have the makings of a very fine one.

Luck had a bad game by his standards--something like four straight balls underthrown by my count--but he sensibly adjusted to that by running more. Didn\'t make any bad mistakes and throw an INT. Very good bad game, if that makes sense.

Lots to work on (I didn\'t see the whole game...there was a Cheaters marathon on G4  ;))

But WFU should be good to tune things up

Thought the very same thing.  35-0 and it was a "bad" game for the star QB.   That is a very good thing.

The RBs are close to good too.  Toby spoiled everyone, but these RBs and the OL are OK.  The D was not really tested, but at some point maybe the D will get some props.  Wake Forest clearly can score, so next weekend will reveal if the D can stop a decent O.

And then you consider...Stanford played without its stud LB, its starting RB or its super speedy WR/KR star.  Three starters that did not play tonight, but could play later in the year.  Wow!  The team also was missing the starting TE too, but that\'s a slightly different situation.

Woke up early in London to watch and it was a fine start to Sunday.

Slick Rick looked overmatched, I could not help but wonder how long he will get to stay.

Defensively, this team is dangerous.  Stanford might give up 8-yd runs, but they\'ll take the interceptions and forced fumbles right out of your hands if you\'re not careful.

Mike Thomas had two forced fumbles, the former of which was recovered by Stanford and the latter of which resulted in Kevin Prince being benched--Thomas had collapsed in on Kevin Prince\'s late QB run and ripped the ball from his hands before running untouched into the end zone.  Prince never saw the field after that.  Both fumbles were forced by ripping the ball out of the UCLA players\' hands; great plays.

Tom Keiser had a sack and an interception off a tipped pass, both highlight-worthy.

Delano Howell delivered a hit inside the Stanford 10-yd line (perhaps inside the 5-yd line as well?) that jarred the football out of a UCLA receiver\'s hands (would have been a 20+ yd catch for first down I think).

There were other key sacks, interceptions, and passes defended (Sherman had two, one of which was flagged for PI, the other which was highlight-worthy).  Tackling was pretty good.  Saw some UCLA runners get stood up on first contact.  I like this defense right now, and I\'m sure they\'ll only get better.

Stanford played some two-TE sets; Fleener was congratulated by Ertz immediately after his TD.  Fleener caught the ball and stared at it for a couple of seconds as if the ball had started talking to him...
