Palma commits to Stanford - StannyBoy - 10-14-2012
LB Kevin Palma has announced he's coming to Stanford. Has some good highlights on YouTube and also plays some WR. He's rated 3-4 stars depending on the site you prefer. Also has a 4.3 GPA.
But it is NOT raining linebackers - Redrum - 10-15-2012
Palma joins a class which, on paper, includes :
Peter Kalambayi (4 star) MLB but might move outside
Isaac Savaiinaea (4 star) MLB
Sean Barton ( 3 star) OLB
Kevin Palma ( 4 star ) MLBÂ
The asterisks come with Barton, who has said he'll take his 2-year LDS mission before coming to Stanford. We are 50-50 on recent LDS commits with Dallas Lloyd on campus and Taysom Hill defecting to BYU.  Also , commit Savaiinaea is listed as a "soft" verbal, took a visit to Notre Dame this past weekend and reports are he will be a real stretch to make it through Montag.

This reminds me of the Barry Sanders Jr decision between Stanford, Ok St and others in that it came just after the Fiesta Bowl. The ND crowd think they can turn Savaiinaea from Stanford as they did Randolph. Lose the game but get the recruit?

A bit off-topic but it is getting tiring seeing ND continually swooping in to get our recruits. Randolph is the latest example but if you saw that game, you saw how well TJ Jones played for Notre Dame at wideout. Unless I am going crazy in my old age, TJ Jones or Tai-ler Jones was originally a Stanford recruit that later switched to ND. He would have been a brobdingnagian help this year.

Some of the scouts implied Randolph wasn't admitted so I wouldn't lose any sleep over him. And TJ Jones dad went to ND so not a surprise he flipped. We did steal Leuders that year too.
