Interesting tidbits on men's hoops -

Fitzgerald from The Chronicle wrote a blog post after Friday's scrimmage.
I take some optimism from this observation:
Quote:The big revelation was how good Powell looks. He looks much stronger, was blocking shots and was confident with his shooting (8-for-11, 19 points).

Powell seems well on track to fulfill my prediction of "Stanford's Lamar Odom." Hopefully that means Randle is "Stanford's Dwyane Wade," to keep the pressure off.
Anyway, the MBB season has as wide a variation of possible outcomes as I can think of: anywhere between an angry mob of myself and garvin personally firing Johnny Dawkins and a strong run in the Pac-12 seems possible to me.
(Today in brave new world thoughts: who would've thought David Shaw, whose ultimate quality as a coach is undetermined but has certainly fulfilled reasonable expectations so far, would be the subject of sustained nitpicking while an actual factual failure so far in men's basketball is mostly "eh, whatever" or even some defenses? I guess I've got to post some vitriolic anti-Dawkins posts soon.)

Now that customers who have a provider that has the PAC-12 network can stream the broadcasts, my new strategy is to find a non-sports fan who will let me give them a few bucks to use their account info to watch PAC-12 network broadcasts. I imagine that something will screw up this plan, beings nothing else has worked out so far...
