Alex Carter - Hurlburt88 - 10-24-2012

Noticed that Shaw praised him.  For last 2 games (I was personally in South Bend) I also thought he did well.  Conversely, Wayne Lyons seemed to get pulled and lose reps immediately after missing tackle on Tai'ler Jones of ND in 2nd Quarter of that game.  If we can get both playing at high level, would be great!!!

Alex Carter has been great and has the potential to be one of the best cornerbacks ever at Stanford.  He looked very good as a senior in High School and did a great job covering some of the elite senior high school receivers.

Dear Coach Shaw,

Please take Mr. Carter off return duty except for critical situations.  He's too valuable to risk to injury.

Publius

P.S. CARTER ISLAND.  Coming to you first on Saturdays and then on Sundays.

Chase Thomas off punt coverage too.  Btw, carter is best at right cb, he struggles a little on the left side for some reason.

Re: Alex Carter - fullmetal - 11-03-2012

He covered that lateral pass well.  I'd call it a screen except I don't think there was a screening blocker there.  Oh, you know what tackle I'm talking about...

The other guys in the secondary also deserve a lot praise this season.  I feel like they aren't getting enough credit for the success of the front 7.  It's a team game and they are buying time for the pass rush to get to the QB.  Of course, this defensive line has gotten the QB so fast in so many instances that they would still be dominant with one of Stanford's secondaries of the past.

Anyways, just remembered that Ed Reynolds and Wayne Lyons were injured last season and Amanam was still learning the position.  I like our chances for the rest of the season and am especially excited about Oregon.
