Kevin Hogan: Stanford's Tim Tebow - Bruce Wang - 10-24-2012

In this article on SI.com, Ryan Hewitt makes the analogy to Tim Tebow.

I've been a Tebow hater since the 2007 BCS game.  Normally I'd hate to hear a comparison, but given Stanford's QB woes, I'm not minding so much.

Note that Hogan throws a better ball than Tebow based on the sample size of 1 pass.

Whoops. This is not the first time ive referred to him as Kyle. This is exactly why he needs to play more so that fans know his name!

The TV announcers for Big Game called him Ryan Hogan at one point, so you are not alone.  ::)

I've never seen Kevin and Ben Hogan on the same golf course.

Hope Hogan is the U. Florida Tebow, not the NY Jets Tebow - Redrum - 10-25-2012

If it's the NY Jets Tebow,  we might be better off sticking w/ Nunes.  For a while Tebow got hot w/ Denver Broncos.  I don't know enough to evaluate his play in Denver vs. other NFL QBs.  But, when the time came,  Denver opted to get rid of him for a couple of mid-low round draft picks, which seems like a clearance sale to me.

The original version of the quote I saw was that "he's like Tebow, except he can throw." Wonder whether that was a misquote, because the addition is really too good not to be in every story.

But enough about that. More Hogan puns: DOES HE HAVE HEROES WITH HIM? WHAT IS HIS FAVORITE KIND OF SANDWICH? IS "HULK" HIS FAVORITE WRESTLER?

Wow...she was killed near Rock River! There is currently nothing viable in Rock River, except a few ranches, although 1957 was probably a little kinder time for places that size. It's about midway between Laramie and Medicine Bow ("Smile when you say that, pardner") on the old cross-country highway. Interstate 80 bypasses it now....by about 50 miles.

A couple of memories:

- I caddied for Buffalo Bob when I was a yoot. Really nice and generous guy with a taste for bourbon. I kept thinking, "This is so cool!"

- I saw "Jailhouse Rock" (with the above-mentioned Judy Tyler) at the drive-in...with my parents. Not ideal.
