  This clip has been used many times, but less well known is the movie, "Downfall," which is one of the best war films of all time.  (Five mugs on the demanding Oasis scale.)  Bruno Ganz plays Hitler.  His portrayal is vastly better than those of any other actors who have attempted the role and that includes Alec Guinness and Anthony Hopkins.  Ganz should've won an Oscar.  His work in this film is as good an acting job as I've ever seen. The movie is true to the two books it's based on, which I managed to struggle through with what's left of the German I learned at Stanford. (One, "Der Untergang" or "Downfall," is by the well-known historian Joachim C. Fest.  The other is a memoir by a doctor who set up an emergency hospital under the chancellery.)  The  If you haven't seen the whole film, you should.  It's riveting.

My reaction to the last two straight-ahead runs is pretty much in line with what's shown in the clip.

Great movie. Pretty decent Hitler video, marred only by the fact that Bowlsby is no longer the AD.

No, I noticed it. But still that's a season ago. Even if Hitler in a bunker needs to be updated on the past week's football, you'd think he'd at least be up to date enough to know about Bowlsby leaving.

I wouldn't have guessed Hitler would be a Stanford fan.  He always struck me as the kind of guy who'd root for USC.

CI has it right on Bowlsby reference.  And I'd add one additional layer: we know Bowlsby had/has the stones to take the most decisive action an AD can.  The new guy?  Who knows.  Some already think he is in way over his head.

And I don't mean to suggest at all that such a decision is even worth raising as a future possibility now (Shaw is, at minimum, doing a good job now).  Rather, it is simply to point out that in the video Hitler was taking comfort (incorrectly) in having a decisive AD who can help Shaw "see the light."  I actually thought that subtlety was one of the cleverest aspects of the piece (just behind the "code word" for "end zone" - which was LOL funny).
