Play calling hypothesis -

Just like everybody else here, I am frustrated with the predictable, limited play calling. It all starts with blocking. So I wonder how much of this can be attributed to the relative inexperience of the offensive line. Stanford may have a 300 page playbook, but if the o-line can only master a handful in practice, this is the result. Given the talent, there is reason to be optimistic about the future. However, if my hypothesis is correct, this should be getting better during the season and that doesn't seem to be the case.

Why don't we do obvious things like play-action passes on first down, maybe to someone who isn't a TE? We're far enough along now that this season itself has provided a lot of experience for the OL guys who started the year green. We obviously are feeling the loss of DeCastro and Martin, maybe others too, but I don't think our limited repertoire of plays is the result of OL limitations.

THE BALL INTO THE DIRT OR BEHIND HIS RECEIVERS. SO THE O-LINE DOES DO SOME THINGS WELL, BUT WHEN YOU CONTINUE TO POUND THE ROCK INSIDE THE TACKLE BOX AGAINST 9 IN THE BOX, I GUESS IT GETS A LITTLE DISCOURAGING...
