Pittsburgh 20 - ND 6 early in the 4th Quarter - Leftcoast - 11-03-2012

I'm rooting for ND to lose so they don't soak up one of those coveted BCS slots.  They look like top-10 pretenders whenever I see them play.

Is sure does seem like ND gets some amazing calls at home. What a terrible pass interference call on 4th and 4 keeping them in the game.

Pretty much like the call on Browning when Stanford played N.D.  Total bailout and total B.S.

Losing one game won't be enough to knock them out of a BCS bowl.  Losing two probably won't be enough.  Losing three might not be enough.  If they're in the BCS top 14, they'll go to a BCS game.  So realistically, they're probably going to a BCS game, regardless of how this game turns out.  And if they lose, that hurts Stanford's strength of schedule.

Even the Notre dame announcers thought it was a bad call

True. On the other hand, an undefeated ND means Oregon could be left out of the BCS championship game. That would leave us out of an outside shot for the Rose Bowl as an at large team.

If Oregon and ND both finish undefeated, Oregon will almost certainly jump ahead of them. Their lead in the BCS is razor thin right now, and Oregon still has three ranked opponents left, including today's SC game. An undefeated ND is nothing but good for the Cardinal.
