Feel Bad Cheering for the Devils - Farm93 - 11-03-2012
I normally like the Beavers and their little school spirit, and yet tonight the choice is clear.
ASU! ASU!
My guess is that a win tonight by ASU over OSU will leave the Beavs down going into next weekend's contest.

I view it the other way. I want our SOS to be as high as possible. Since we don't play ASU, I want OSU to win.

I view it the other way. I want our SOS to be as high as possible. Since we don't play ASU, I want OSU to win.

It's hard to predict how an opponent will play following a loss. Coming off a loss can motivate a team or deflate it. The OSU team seems too god to fall on its face just because of a loss to a good ASU team.
But I am really excited for next week' game. I think it will be a fun match up between both teams' defenses and offenses.

In other news, did anyone see UCLA's 66-10 crushing of Arizona?

We absolutely needed the Beavs to win today, and luckily they did. I'd agree that we needed OSU to lose one of their last two games, but since they lost last week, we needed them to win this one. Other than winning out, our best shot to get to the Rose Bowl is for Oregon to go to the NCG and Stanford to go 9-3 (with the third loss to Oregon) and rank in the BCS top 14. If OSU were to be top-10 when we beat them next week -- and they most assuredly will be after today -- then this would help our numbers all around should we beat them. We'll need every point we can muster to break the top 14, assuming Oregon delivers Stanford its third loss.
