SHAW is rumored to be the HC candidate for a very high profile vacancy - JohnOlenchalk - 11-08-2012

At a famous d-1 school, salary rumored to be in the $5M range.  Know the name, but I'm not divulging yet.  Could be a psyops rumor started by Chip Kelly for all I know....stay tuned...

I'm sure Pat Haden holds David Shaw in much higher regard than Lane Kiffin.

Arkansas, right?

Other than money, not that appealing otherwise. Unless Shaw likes running his head into brick walls.

It seems Arkansas has....alternative....means of compensating their football coaches. Don't think Shaw is a motorcycle enthusiast though.

Yeah, it's out there on the internet along with the rumour that pink puppies from mars are invading Palo Alto.  If you really want to look at the stuff here you go.

Who knows where this stuff originally came from in the echo chamber that is the internet.  I'll post the pink puppy lead later ...

Take a look at the authors of those articles. Scott and Pete...Rousell? Seems there may be some brotherly disagreement. Also pretty bizarre that the family business is coaching rumors.

<sarcasm>
What? Someone wants to pay an obstinate, bumbling coach who doesn't know how to win, doesn't know how to use the talent he has, can't evaluate or develop talent at key positions, and can't even see what the fans see from the stands $5 million per year??

Zero chance Shaw goes to Ark.

Man, my stomach can't take this "Shaw is such an idiot!?!?  Why doesn't he bench Nunes?!??!" to "OMG!  Shaw is a coaching genius! Who's gonna poach him?!?!"

Sarcasm aside.  I think Shaw stays for awhile.  I don't see him leaving for another college coaching job.  There are only a handful of platforms even with the necessary conditions to challenge Nick Saban's machine, and I don't see any of them as sufficient.  You need a completely different animal (punctuated equilibrium) to beat Alabama.  And I think 2 of them reside in the Pac-12.  One is Chip Kelly.  The other, believe it or not, is Stanford with its ability to field smart and mentally tough players running more complex schemes on both sides of the ball.

I'm pretty sure Shaw didn't break the bank with his first contract as a Head Coach, so if he gets Stanford to the Rose Bowl this year, it seems pretty a pretty safe bet he will be getting a new deal, because he will have earned it.
