Great first showing from the defense. We pushed up the field and forced them back on the periphery. Textbook.
Some signs of life on the offensive side as well, really liked the first play to DT.
Time for some points on this drive.

I really like how the game is looking so far. The sack set us back, but Hogan looked poised in the other plays.

NOOOO!!!!!
Rando I was hoping you would've made it up to Eugene!

Yeah I would've loved to go but it didn't work out. I had to settle for buying a car on the 20th and making the trip in two years. I WILL be traveling with the team next year to the Colosseum.

AGH HATE the punt call. 90 yards vs 65 yards is not that big of a difference with this offense. 4th and 5 at the 35 is a go for it down against the Ducks.

Dang! Why'd we kick on 4th and 5 on the Duck 35? Can we beat the Ducks while playing conservative?

-- loves seeing hogan make that clutch pass while in the grasp. Awesome
-- very glad to have an official game thread
-- the radio guys are cursing Shaw's choice of a punt rather than 50-odd field goal. I liked the admission that our kicker can't de depended on like that. Buried them a bit with the punt. I am ok with it.

F*CK.
SHAW THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU PLAY CONSERVATIVE AGAINST THE DUCKS

Whew great stop there.

And there's the proof it was a bad call - Duck's get 75 yards on their first play. Glad we played the field position game rather than go for a score! Arghhh!

For those keeping score, this is the difference between a 90 yard drive and 65. If we had not punted, all else being equal, Oregon would've gotten 7.
Come on offense, get a TD now. Go Cardinal!

Sorry, there is no link between choosing to punt your opponent down inside the 10 and having your D give up a mammoth run by the QB.

I agree with this but I also believe going for every opportunity to score would be wise as well.

Well, Mariota makes that run from the 35 yard line instead of the 9 he's in the end zone before he gets caught.
But still the point remains. This is a team that gets yards in brobdingnagian chunks, not a team that has sustained drives to score. Taht needs to be taken into account.

Anybody knows what is up with the offensive line?
Not getting any push :o(

Agreed. That punt on 4th and 5 was a stupid decision.
Re: Stanford - Oregon Game Thread -

Pretty concerning that our o-line is not getting Taylor any room. Hogan playing great though.

Johnny WHO?
Hogan is playing like a boss right now.

Hogan is looking amazing. The throw to triple coverage was questionable but had it not been tipped could have been a TD for Toilolo.
