Brook Lopez - gobears - 11-27-2012
Have begun following Brooklyn Nets basketball as my daughter lives just blocks from Barclays Center, and what a pivotal part of that team Brook Lopez is. I honestly did not know much about his playing days at Stanford, but I feel pretty certain that the Nets would not be tied with the knicks for first without him.
A late congratulations on your victory over my Baylor lady Bears. Could this be the year the Cardinal finally gets that National Championship? It is early, but looks like they could. I am sure you will be in the final four again.
I wish Baylor and Stanford would schedule some games in football and mens basketball. Would love to visit Palo Alto, I hear the area is beautiful. Waco, not so much, but campus is amazing and we will be in our new riverfront football stadium in a few years which will be top notch.
As a Baylor fan, I will always be able to say....BEAT CAL.

The most surprising aspect of Brook's season is his rebounding and defense. There's still room for improvement on the rebounding (6.5 pg), but at least it's better than the 3.6 he averaged last year or the 5.9 from the year before. Interesting to see he's only getting 30 minutes a game. I wonder if the coach is protecting him from injury.

Brook only played 5 games last year, didn't he? It was definitely a lost season to injury, but he did pretty well before that despite having to compete for rebounds with the oh-so-effective Kris Humphries.
gobears - You're a Baylor B.ear supporter, right? Around these parts, the b.ear mascot usually refers to a team in blue and gold.

Chris Mannix from SI.com writes a nice one-pager on Brook and the Nets.
Nets make statement in win over Knicks, Lopez happy to be part of it

Did other people see the WSJ article on Brook Lopez's attendance at the ComiCon? I thought it was pretty funny and nice to see a guy who's totally comfortable in his own skin. He may be a dork, but he could care less if you think he is.
