How do you fire your dad? - washingtonismoney - 11-29-2012

As is usual for all things odd, awkward and strange, ask Lane Kiffin: https://twitter.com/BryanDFischer/status/274334023420108800

Bad for us - Redrum - 11-30-2012

Long may our enemies writhe in pain and dysfunction.

A lot of commenters saying it's because Kiffin The Gray's Tampa 2 scheme can't account for the college spread offense.  Note that USC's two most significant losses --  first loss to us,  close-out loss to ND--  came to teams that don't run the spread offense.  Apparently the Tampa 2 can't account for regular ol' football, either.

After a 7-5 season and with Barkley in a sling instead of eyeing the Voldemort, someone's head had to roll.

I saw the headline and immediately thought of Willie Shaw.

Monte Kiffin I don't shed a tear over. Not sure about their relative coaching ability, but based on the outcomes I suspect Willie Shaw is a better father than Monte Kiffin.

What's this Tampa 2 defense you keep talking about?

All of my US.C friends are telling me their Troja.ns run a "Trampled 2" scheme.

Supposedly everyone loves Monte as a person. Hard to believe, I guess, but there were a fair number of Tennessee players who said (more-or-less) they hated Lane but were sad to see Monte go. Take it FWIW.

Anyway, Monte's had a great career, done some important stuff in football and made quite a bit of money. The sports world always forgives and forgets that tragic last act. I would guess Monte will do the same, ultimately.

Not for our purposes

That U$C defense gave up a lot of points to UCLA.  I think we would have wanted both Violations to have stuck around for a while.
