It is time to wonder how good the Pac is?

No, it is time to wonder what Nunes Vaz was doing under center when Mannion's lone drive led to a touchdown. Riley couged that game.

I watched most of the game. Their QB was pretty bad but the o-line was beyond terrible. The RT was abused by Okafor for 4.5 sacks.

We are strong at the very top?

I only watched some of the game, but Texas had to convert a 4th down on their last drive which allowed them to pull ahead. OSU was a play away from winning.  Â
What surprised me was how OSU seemed to not roll Vaz out, leave in an extra blocker, or do something to deter the Texas pass rush better than they did. They ran a nice screen to pick up 25 yards or so but I did not see much creativity in the play calling. I think Mannion would have had similar trouble with the pass rush although he seems to have a quicker trigger than Vaz.Â

I don't think this game was any great embarrassment for the Pac-12.
Texas was a slightly better than average team (5-4 record) in the Big 12 and ranked in the top 25.
OSU was a slightly better than average team in the Pac-12 (6-3), also in the top 25.
They played a close, down to the wire game that Texas pulled out.

Now this was an embarrassment for the conference.
One of the Pac-12's better teams loses by two touchdowns (and gets held to 7 points) by a 6-7 team.

With a 5-4 league record, I suppose the Spoiled Children are technicall one of the better teams. However, the team that showed up today would have a hard time beating Colorado. Georgia Tech didn't look good either. Any spark of life from U.SC would have beat GT.

Please don't associate this miserable effort with the conference. The embarrassment should be solely that of the team that delivered such a desultory performance.
