Re: Post-game - fullmetal - 01-02-2013

We got snarled in traffic and waited for traffic to die down before venturing out for food around 9PM, presuming y'all had finished already.  There were folks who went to the team hotel to hang out and welcome the team back--traffic was bad there as well since I think there was a Lakers game tonight.  There wasn't the sense that everyone was out partying (at least imho) for some reason, not in the way the Orange Bowl post-game festivities felt.  Maybe everyone has to turn in early to get to work tomorrow...or my crowd is getting older :p

Re: Post-game - Bruce Wang - 01-02-2013

So we hung out at the team hotel post-game.  The vibe was cool and happy.  Not boisterous.  No woofing.  Basically acted like they've been here before.

Created a family heirloom - a football autographed by almost all the standout players plus a bonus one from Jim Plunkett.  Some of the players noticed it and said "Wow you got a Jim Plunkett!"  Basically I was one of the few adults shamelessly asking for autographs amid a small army of children seeking to do the same.  They were all very polite and gracious.  Stanford men.  I extended our congratulations, well wishes for the future, and how proud we were of them.  I did say to every senior with eligibility "No pressure.  We hope you stay one more year."  Every one of them laughed.  None seemed to dismiss the proposition.

Niiice :) Sometimes you just gotta put yourself out there.  BTW, I have two hours left before I have to pack and leave--I'm supershuttling it out at 3:15AM, so if anyone knows of parties going on, I have nothing to do...
