A few Harbaugh near misses - FarmBoy - 02-01-2013

Interesting article on ESPN about teams that missed out on hiring both Harbaughs.

I remember the rumors of KU trying to hire Harbaugh after the Sun Bowl season as well as the much hyped hiring after the Orange Bowl, but a few I wasn't aware of:
* Supposedly the Jets interviewed Harbaugh after the 2008 season (that would have been a shocking hire since Harbaugh hadn't really done anything yet at Stanford). It sounds like he was one of many to be interviewed though, so not sure how serious
* The Detroit Lions also interviewed Harbaugh before going with Shwartz
* After the 2009 season, apparently Kansas City approached Harbaugh right after he signed his extension with Stanford. Sounds like we dodged a bullet on that one. Maybe if he hadn't signed yet, he would have moved on?
* John Harbaugh was a finalist at UCLA when they ultimately with with Slick Rick. That would have been very interesting annual games '07-'10.
