While not my cup of tea, Helter Skelter really is an underappreciated Beatles song. We have it to thank (or blame) for heavy metal.
Happy Birthday, Redrum!

Happy birthday, Redrum. Counting the days until retirement yet?
"I'm not dead yet. I feel hap-py, I feel hap-py" - Redrum - 02-11-2013
Whack!!
I never thought that I would be thinking about things like retirement. But I also thought rehiring Bill Walsh was a
great idea. And it was, for one season. So, yes.Â
Now I am thinking about things like retirement, forced or voluntary. Thereby hangs a tale, but that's for another time.
And, even though the Beatles sang about the mystical "when I'm 64", I made it ...and two of the guys who recorded that song didn't. To quote the sainted Joe Kapp
" Life isn't fair. I swear to God it isn't".

Happy Birthday, Redrum, and if you are indeed a geezer, an appellation whose appropriateness I'll let you slug out with Garvin, may that be a 50+ year title!
(And I'm glad to hear the Beatles geezer song of choice has NOTHING to do with "Eleanor Rigby".)

Happy Birthday, Redrum. You're catching me.
We still need you on the Card and other boards...and I will feed you at the restaurant of your choice when given the opportunity.

And shame on all of you who just shouted, "Helter Skelter!"
The song was "Help," right?

RR's openness is a refreshing part of this board, even if it means we have to hear all about bollards and the joys of living in the Deep South. Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday RR.
And the songs should be [i]Old Brown Shoe, The Long and Winding Road, I'm So Tired, and [i]If I Fell.
Cheers,

The geezer celebrated by taking in a movie - Redrum - 02-11-2013
Edgy romantic comedy...of sorts. Silver Linings Playbook. Very well done... and the wife wouldn't go for Zero Dark Thirty. Jennifer Lawrence. Hard to believe she was the actress who played the harried teenager trying to hold her family together and solve the disappearance of her father in Winters Bone. Yowza!

Since we're on movies now, liked most of Side Effects. 90-95% of a very good movie...but the ending doesn't quite hold together.

If you liked Zero Dark Thirty, you'll love this long form interview with the actual guy who killed UBL. True to form, his name is never revealed, and he is only known as The Shooter. It's also a stark look at the support structures in place for veterans transitioning to civilian life, and unfortunately, there's not much of it.
