He was the AD at Georgetown before taking the Delaware job. I remember hearing that he took the Delaware job to get more football experience on his resume.

Man, was reading that article painful -- as in "the truth hurts" painful. It doesn't really say much that hasn't been written here at one time or another or discussed by the [dwindling] group of fans in my section, but it is brutal to see it all laid out together, so succinctly, in one place.
The only thing that would have made it harder to read would have been if Wilner had written it.
As for his feeling that Dawkins won't be replaced after this season, I'm not so sure. He is, indeed, a "really nice guy," but waiting another year probably consigns the program to at least 2, and more likely 3, more years of poor performance, given the recruiting realities. Letting another coach take over next year could pay immediate dividends and [assuming a modicum of success, of course] almost certainly improves the recuriting chances for the following year. This is Muir's opportunity to show that the basketball side of his resume is for real.
And, while it might cost John Arrillaga a little, he's only going to get even lonelier sitting in his half-court loge seats if things continue as they have.

I was right...that was harder to read.Â
I'd like to think Wilner stole it from FitzGerald, but I gather from the date on the post that Wilner may actually have written it first. Now, just please don't show me a Kawakami column... :'(

Sorry, 76lsjumb, Kawakami's writing about that hoops coach across the bay.
