The comedians at 59er Insider speculate he'd be a perfect fit for us, what with his 2.9 GPA.

Bridgford's dad Rich is a Stanford alum. A member of Beta Theta Pi and the QB for their IM football team. We played them in the playoffs when I was at Stanford. He was the one of the biggest jerks I encountered in 4 years on campus. A stereotype of a hyper-competitive, Orange County frat boy who one might expect to see at USC. I think we can all be glad that his son did not accept Stanford's offer coming out of HS.

The optimism among GBers is sky high, as far as I've seen. They seem to have unquestioning faith that Sonny Dykes is a football genius whose every move should be trusted unquestioningly. They're predicting Zach Kline (or Goff depending on which camp you're in) to be the next Rodgers. Amazing the entitlement that exists in that fan base.

Given their horrendous graduation rate and weak academic standards for football players, maybe this Bear is being ironic. They're generally intelligent enough to do that.
