Scrambling to remember the feature, managed to find a PDF copy of the Miami Herald's May 14th '11 review.  Fingers crossed hoping this link works..

Thanks for posting the article, Lurck! I remember watching the documentary, but never made the connection.

By the way, my favorite interview line from her is, "Yeah, she's Brittney Griner, but I'm Shoni Schimmel, you know?"

I'll have to catch that documentary off the grid (no cable/Netflix), but it sounds very compelling.  It's been passed around my fb friend feed as well.

Really good Doc.  Saw it when it came out.  Never got to see Shoni play despite being at three different tournaments where her team was signed up.  I did see Jude and sat with Shonni and her friend.  Dad and Mom got married on Easter right after they beat Baylor.  Watch the Doc.

Oregon PBS broadcast no-budget RwW once or twice, then a couple years later it got buried even deeper by a knockoff shootty Hollywood-style docudrama "Edge Of America [2003]". 

Only Rocks DVDs found are sold $40 onesy twosy out of a NY lawyer's office drawer, as described in the doc's imdb user reviews section..    <sad face icon goes here>

I understand :)  But I literally don't spend any time in front of a cathode ray tube these days, so finding a VHS player would be pretty tough.  Maybe I'll see if my parents still have theirs, and I might be able to watch it at their place.
