Knight question (of Nike, not the news Knights) -

I'm a little confused about Knight and the Stanford Business School. Is the GSB now to be called the Knight School of Business like Anderson and Kellogg?
Or is Knight like McClatchy hall?

If they are going to put a name out in front of GSB there is going to be a hell of a bidding war.
Knight, Balmer, Skoll sure I am leaving out a few other billionaires.

The building that the GSB is in is named after Knight, but I've never heard anything about naming the school itself after anybody.

Apparently the building and the street are named for our Duck alum, as it is located on "Knight" way. Stanford held a portion of its volunteer conference at the Knight Center and it is impressive although the new Bing Performing Arts Center stole the show!

I believe I will pretend that Stanford is honoring another Knight alum - Brevin.

Phil Knight graduated with an MBA from the Stanford GSB. Here's a quote from an old Stanford Magazine article entitled
The Force Behind the Nike Empire:
Quote:Stanford changed Knight's life. Finally, school wasn't drudgery. For the first time, he was excited to read about something other than sports. And it was in Frank Shallenberger's small-business class that Knight conceived Nike.
