One thing I find interesting about Ertz is that he played high school basketball with Ryan Whalen and Mark Appel.  3 guys who were all drafted in different sports than the one they played together in high school, and who went to the same college.  That is probably not very common.

Monte Vista HS must be a pretty popular draw for Stanford.  My soph yr roommate was a Monte Vista alum though not an athlete there or at Stanford.
