Michigan State pulled his scholarship once they saw his music video so not entirely his decision. His parents have got to be pretty stupid though.
Stanford stripped football scholies from Ben Ladner and David Hobbs - Redrum - 05-14-2013
for allegedly smoking dope after being warned by Harbaugh. Both ended up getting their degrees but I don't know if Ladner ended up w/ Stanford degree. So even the terrible decisions are better 40-year decisions at Stanford.

The sad thing is, Greg Olson, Jon Beason, and the rest of the 7th Floor Crew proved you can have a successful college and NFL career, AND put out terrible rap songs.
Then again a few members of the 7th Floor Crew actually had some flow. If this kid is a better rapper than football player, Michigan State really isn't missing anything.

alumni database shows Ben Ladner with a BA '09 and MA '10 and Chris Hobbs with a BA '09

Normally I wouldn't be concerned as to how this affects us recruiting-wise. But as fullmetal points out, we've had two RBs with musical aspirations.
