Rumors are flying around, but some say:
1) it's "only" a year-long suspension
2) it's a permanent leaving, and starting WR Devaris Daniels is out as well.

Though I also hope Golson will be ok, if the cheating / plagiarism rumors are true, I don't have a lot of sympathy.

Many of the posters on the Notre Dame boards are saying that if he was caught cheating/plagiarizing, Golson will be expelled permanently from Notre Dame.

How big of a blow is this to them? I seem to remember that the homers were counting on improvement from him in their homerific predictions next year, who's next in line?
Also, if it really was for cheating I have 0 sympathy. I wonder how flagrant or how many offenses this would have to be for him to actually get expelled.

Considering the main backup is the immortal Tommy Rees -- the athlete who can't outrun a South Bend cop -- I'd say this is a pretty big blow indeed.

Not sure if we ever noted this, but N.D.'s top 2013 recruit has made it clear he's not heading to Indiana, for whatever reason. Lot of rumors there, too.

The Office of Residence Life at Notre Dame oversees student conduct and administers all disciplinary actions. It doesn't mean he did something he shouldn't have in his dorm room!

well we're only one injury away from being down to 3 QBs on scholarship due to the departures of Nunes and Nottingham.

I think this is a big blow. While their defence will likely be good, there are questions at just about every position on the offence. Losing their #1 QB is definitely not helpful, especially when the other QB's on the team are either not very good or untested. I would think Rees is next in line.
