No, Nick Saban REALLY IS the devil - Redrum - 05-29-2013

And if the devil is saying something you like,  look out!

"“That should be the first consideration, the fans. Nobody’s considering them. They’re just thinking about, ‘How many games can I win? Can I get bowl qualified? How many tough teams do I have to play?"

Saban's mashup of exactly who was supposedly saying what ( "They're")... actually catches a truth.  I have yet to meet a local SEC fan who didn't hold two key beliefs:  1) That playing in 1 conference SEC game was the moral toughness equivalent of playing 3.5 out of conference games .  2) Except for in-state and couple of cross-border rivalries, nothing is more important than playing in a bowl game.  So the fans I run into are saying what Saban says they're not:  How many games can [insert my school] win?  Can I get bowl qualified?  and  Is there some way to play patsies and then have them all rocket up the ratings to increase my school's glory?

I mean, if not SEC fans,  who is it that's cramming their stadiums full of fans to watch them cream South Northwest Arkansas St.?

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was to convince the world that he actually wanted to play a tougher schedule. And like that, poof. He's playing in the BCS game.

If Nick Saban's players can't really trust him, why should we?
