The only projected Stanford starting defenders not on Phil Steele's best in the Pac-12 4-deep:Â Lyons, Parry, and Vaughters or Lueders.
Lyons has tremendous potential, David Parry even as a walk-on is the best NT in the conference (and isn't on this list because only Stanford plays with a NT in the Pac-12 now from what I can gather), and Lueders/Vaughters were both elite national recruits.Â
Enjoy this Stanford fans. It doesn't get much better than this.

Ted Miller broke the numbers down today, Stanford has the most players on the 2-deep, and 2nd to USC on the 4-deep.

And Stanford's 14 guys on Steele's list also doesn't include Andrus Peat at OT. Pretty hard for me to believe there are eight better OTs in the PAC-12 than Peat. Heck, Peat may even be better than Fleming, who is on the first team.
It also seems hard to believe there will be 12 WRs in the conference better than Ty Montgomery, who seems poised for a year more like his Frosh year. That first season put him on Steele's 4th team at this time last year. Even though Stanford doesn't have any WRs listed, the consensus seems to be this will be Stanford's most explosive group of WRs in quite a while, including all three BCS teams.
Steele only picks one TE per team, so just four total. No team has extracted more from and relied on more TEs than Stanford in recent years, so it seems safe to assume TE, like WR, won't be a weak link for this team either.
In other words, this appears to be the most talented team in the PAC-12, which makes it likely the most talented team in Stanford football history.

LOL The sun is rising at like 2:30am PT in Connecticut these days. Add to that an open window, a low of 65, the lady of the house getting up to let out the barking dogs at 6am, and yes, sleep was difficult at 3:15am PT :P
