Tommy Vardell Interview - Hank 91 - 06-28-2013
Here's my latest interview, this time Tommy Vardell. We covered a lot of great territory -- Big Game '91, the Notre Dame upset, his time in the NFL with Barry Sanders, and even a broken recruiting promise from Jack Elway. I was really happy with how it turned out, mainly because Tommy was so involved. He spoke with me for more than an hour, then spent time going over the transcript to make sure he hadn't made any mistakes, and even sent me photos and video links to use. You know, I didn't, which seems odd in retrospect. I'll get in touch with him and see what I can come up with.

Just getting to this now, but what a great interview - thank you! Tommy was such a great guy, as well as a player, and I'm so pleased to see that come off the page. So many of the names he recites bring back a amazing memories too... even a reference to my old friend Todd Burton (who's now a physician, by the way)! 8)

Great interview and I looked it up the Fullback Kevin Smith who went to UCLA was actually drafted in the seventh round.
